little bo peep
This is the first in a series of nursery rhyme characters I will be making. The inspiration was the little lamb that she is holding. This is the only thing I did not make, I purchased it at my local craft store. It was so cute I just had to make a doll for it!
Little Bo Peep is a soft body doll with head, hands and feet sculpted from polymer clay. Her eyes were hand-painted and then inserted into her head. She was also hand-painted using Genesis heat set oil paints. Her hair is tibetan lamb's wool that I curled by hand. Her dress is all sewn by me and features pantaloons, a petticoat, an underdress and a bodice with balloon skirt. She is a one-of-a-kind creation and was made specifically to show at IDEX 2009 in Orlando, Florida.
