Elizabeth Dye is first and foremost a wife and mother with two beautiful children. Her daughter, Destiny is the inspiration behind Destiny's Garden, and her son, Tyman (otherwise known as Ty Dye!) keeps her busy with new ideas for mischevious fairies!
Elizabeth has been painting and drawing for most of her life. About nineteen years ago a friend handed her a lump of super sculpey and thus was born the first mermaid! Since then she has been constantly inspired by polymer clay and all its possibilities.
Elizabeth is the President of The Professional Doll Makers' Art Guild and exhibits her work at the IDEX show in Orlando, Florida; the Doll and Teddy Bear EXPO in Washington, DC; at local doll shows and other venues that welcome her and her fairies!
Elizabeth has also begun teaching others the art of fine art doll making.
The work you see here is all one-of-a-kind pure sculpt. Which means no molds are used and each doll is entirely sculpted by hand by the artist. With the exception of the Ball Jointed Dolls. They each started as a sculpture in polymer clay and were then cast in resin. They will each be dressed in very limited edition costumes or one-of-a-kind costumes.
Destiny is now 12 years old and has begun making felted animals and other creations to accompany the BJDs. To see her work visit the "Felties" page! |
